Talking How do you remove the center console? (owned in my own thread, I got it out, lol)

Hey everyone. I figured out the doors pretty much (watched the window guy do it) but I cannot figure out how to take off the center console. I mean the WOOD piece in the center surround the shifter.
Any help is appreciated, thanks!

Well while I am at it, to remove the wood on the doors, do those pop out too? Or do I have to take the whole door off?

Thanks again.

yes. that's it. Ashtray pulls out, and then use a flathead screwdriver and gently pry up the wooden console (pry the button/switch end first)

For the wood on the door, i think they are molded in if i remember correctly. I wouldn't pry those out

For the wood on the door you have to take the door panels out. There are a few screws on the bottom, the chrome handle and near the big handle to close the door thingy and should be able to to just lift the panel up and away. Make sure to disconnect speakers, pwr windows etc.

Don't forget to remove the ashtray in the way. That pulls straight out as well. Disconnect the power from that and just use a flathead to pry the clips next to the two outer ECT and VSC buttons. Oh yeah, don't forget to put the car in neutral or something. Then just pull the wood towards you. And disconnect the power from the switches on the wood.

I was thinking the same thing but Im sure the man makes more per hour than it would cost to have someone else do it.

Mike,

Just make sure after you pop up the console you don't pull too far, the resistance you'll feel is the wires still connected to the Power/VSC and heat buttons, they'll need to be disconnected.
