Default anyone know anything about the stock AC system?

one speed of my AC fan is the only one that works. there's no low to high anymore. and then yesterday, my AC fan shut down completely for a couple minutes and then started back up to the one speed. I stopped by an AC place today and the guy said it was probably a fan switch but couldnt say for sure. they were busy and nobody was available to take a look at it. anyone have any idea?

if it helps, I got a flip out tv installed right around the same time frame. it was by a reputable shop in town so I'm pretty sure that's not the issue, but I'm not ruling out the possibility.

sound like your ac control unit might be bad. try to borrow someones working controls just to make sure that's the problem.

I noticed that the controls will activate the clutch in the compressor, but still no fan.

your fan is still controlled by the AC/Heater unit. i don't know if you can pull it aparts and try toying with it. if your fan comes on one speed than the fan is working. what is not working is what tells the fan how fast or how slow to go. the swicth for the ac is separate from the fan swicth. i could be wrong about what is wrong, but you have to trouble shoot and that's where i would start.

update: I called lexus and they said there was no blower motor "resistor", but instead a blower motor "controller" which was about 230 dollars as opposed to the ~27 dollar "resistor". can anyone verify that this is the correct or incorrect part?

the lexus dealer closest to me isn't that close and I'd like to order the part and install it myself if possible.

Default air conditioner fan on one speed only

So what was the resolution to this? My GS400 has same problem. A/C works but fan is only on HIGH no matter if you try to select a lower speed. Fan works the same for heat also. Did you get the "controller" and did that fix the problem?
