Default Painting front grill

Hey guys,

I want to paint my front grill mate black. Right now its a little faded and bland. I want it to pop and be clean again. What are your suggestions? Should I paint it? What paint should I use? Is it safe?

how would you like it if i told you you can have a chrome grill? hehehe

otherwise my thoughts on painting it.. matte black.. are kinda bad.
first.. yr prolly gna use like
"spray paint"
which sucks.
all rocks that hit yr grill will chip spray paint like no tomorrow.
if you clear it... which would help a bit.it wont be so matte anymore.

but depending on your grille.. u can use paint stripper.. to remove the existing paint.. and violah.. you have a chrome grille.

which looks nice on whatever color your car may be

I agree with a chrome grille. Did it last weekend and it turned out great.

Here is a thread that convinced me:

Good luck.

Yea, I'm planning on stripping my grill to expose the chrome. I just gotta get it back from the guy who is replacing the valves he bent in a botched attempt to change the timing belt.

Chenzo26 take your time and do it. I used Goof off to clean up the glue residue after stripping. Good luck.

Thanks for the tip. Where'd you get that by the way?

Home depot. I used the citrus base apint stripper from walmart and then used the goof off to clean up any residue from the stripper and paint. What helped me was using a soft brissel tooth brush and wooden tooth pic to get the hard to reach places. Good luck.

I blacked out my upper & lower grill without any problems. I did semi-gloss on the fins and gloss on the emblem. Rocks will chip anything in their way. At least if you keep some left over its a quick & easy touch up. It fits my style more than a chrome grill.

I vote for the anti-bling grill.
