Default Help something wrong with my GS

Car was running fine then I was stopped at a light. Turns green I hit the gas and nothing. check engine light VSC trac lights were on so I thought it had stalled. But it didn't, it has no power unless you floor the pedal and then it feels as if its not shifting gears at all.

Anyone had this problem or know what it might be?

Yikes... that does not sound good at ALL. Sounds like a transmission issue more than anything else... and if that is indeed the case... that's $$$.

sounds more like it's in limp mode than a trans problem.

Run the code for free at the pepboy, kragen, autozone stores...possibly the "throttle position sensor"

Not to hijack the thread, but what exactly is "limp mode".

Three for three, TPS. Reseting the ECU may fix it for a little while till the fault trips again.

Limp mode is when the ECU runs with BASIC set parameters for a sensor that has failed. If you get a light on for the air/fuel ratio sensor the fuel trims are locked for that bank based on different inputs, temp, air flow, rpm. Instead of being real time like it is when the sensor is active.

Yes it is. I had the same experience as you and I kind of freaked out because none of my previous cars had "limp" mode. Well I scanned for codes and P1120 and P1121 came up. I also cleared the DTCs but the problem hasn't come back for months.

The two things that need to be replaced when P1120 and P1121 come up are:

-Accelerator Pedal Position Sensor (APPS)
-Throttle Position Sensor (TPS)

Limp mode is when you don't got your P on.

Any idea the cost for replacing the;

-Accelerator Pedal Position Sensor (APPS)
-Throttle Position Sensor (TPS)

?

This happened at least once a month with my gs4...same exact thing. Thanks to a previous thread on here that I found, I ended up cleaning the Throttle Body extensively, along with the MAF, and my aftermarket air filter....and I also reset the ECU and cleared the codes as well. After doing this, the problem hasnt happened it what seems like over a year.

It was definitely a scary thing to have happen though....it happened on the freeway one time, and I had to slam the gas pedal on the floor to get it to respond I hope the info above is helpful.
