Started the DIY clear out on my old '98-'00 tails.

Default Started the DIY clear out on my old '98-'00 tails.

I just need to seal the passenger side and then that's one down...one to go. I used a dremel to cut around it...let me tell you it is a PITA!!! I might do the oven technique on the driver side when I get to it. I will post up pics when complete. If I like them more than my '01+ tails I will keep them, if I still prefer my current tails I might sell them here on the CL classifieds!

so we dont need a heat gun? Or is it easier with a heat gun?

LMAO... i did it in the past and i would have told you it was a hassle Too much time and work involved. Just make sure you seal them up real good.

I hear ya about the hassle...you need like HUGE wrap around goggles and a frickin' sweater when cutting this $h1t. It is like tiny pieces of plastic shrapnel hitting you and this makes it even harder to concentrate when making (or trying to) precise even cuts...damn - you should have warned me bro! lol. I'll try to get some pics up here ASAP.

well when u use the screw driver to split the taillights make sure you do it slowly because if u do it hard or fast u can crack the lens or even damage the inside chrome

can't do it with 01 tails, the yellow doesn't come apart on them

it doesnt come apart but u can spilt it open and dremel that section off
