Default What made you choose the 2nd Gen GS

Not sure if this is the right section, Mods feel free to move to Car Chat if needed.

Now, what made you guys/gals choose the 2nd Gen GS? Was it price, reliability, design....etc. What was it?

A friend had one back in the days, but it was to expensive for me to buy fairly new, I always wanted one since '98, always love the design of the car

For me, I had just totaled my GTO (god I miss that car) and needed something to replace it quickly. I wanted to get another muscle car but, the gas was getting expensive so I started looking around at other alternitives. I looked at the Nissan Altima SE-R but the stealership would not budge on price $23,999, I thought that was to much for that car w/ 28,000 miles on the clock when I had seen others on autotrader with half the mileage for $21,000. Then I found My 2002 GS 300, MSM w/ 32,000 miles for only $19,999. I did not really know much about the GS line, I started researching them and was suprised to see one for this price, with this mileage, in this condition (it's perfect). So, I took it for a test drive and that was it, I knew what my next car would be. The only thing I wish I could change is the motor. I wish I would have been able to find a V8 in my price range when I was looking to buy. I guess to answer my question I bought mine because of A: Price, B: Style (no car looks like a GS, none.) C: Reliability (it's a Toyota).

Hahahaha.

For me. I saw my first one in high school and loved it! I told myself I would own one one of these days. 8 years later I bought a used one.

because it's a lexus, and on top of that, it's a gs. For some reason, the is was never appealing to me.

the jzs160/1 will always be something special to me, kind of how like the e39 5 series is to me.
