Thanks man! You broke the process down! One important pointer is: You don't have to start that low (grit). You can do the entire process by hand. Those Works (17") were in poor condition. If your wheels aren't that bad, you can start around 320-400 grit and work your way up. Make sure that you get all the stratches (curb rashes, etc.) out with the roughest grit. Then remove the scratches induced by the rougher grits with the following finer grits.
Very minor scratches on the lips, no curb rash. Mine is clear coated, so obviously this polishing will take that off.
What I really want to do is to also take off the silver paint on the spokes and paint them titanium color (just the spokes, not the lips). I guess I will have to wait till the winter though as I can't be without the car and doing this myself will just take too long. Although doing this in the winter poses it's own challenges too - too cold for the paint to dry etc.......
