Default Tired of rock chips in my fog lights!!!!!!

Hi everyone,

I know that I'm not the only one that has this problem...rock chips and cracks in my fog lights. Then water gets in...then the dust and dirt....goes on and on. I had to replaced my fogs 2 times already.

Does anyone know of a company that makes plastic lenses or aftermarket fogs that will fit in 2nd gen GS???

I was looking at some other model vehicle and their shape of their fogs comes pretty close but fitment will have to be custom. ANY IDEAS PLEAZZZZEEEEE....

You might want to look into some clear protection film. Most clear-bra manufacturers make kits for foglights and headlights. It's definitely something worth checking out.

Paint protection film would be your best bet. I dont think you will find a kit for the GS but you can cover them with tape and mark the shape you need than cut them out using the tape as a template. I did this with mine and also did the headlights to keep them from getting fogged up after cleaning the pitting and haze off of them. Anything over 11 mil is going to be plenty strong. No need for the real thick stuff. All it does is hold the heat in the housing witch can cause problems later.

I would have to agree with the clear bra. I havent had any problems with chips on the fogs but have several rock chips on the hood so I am going to have it applied to the front real soon

You can purchase clear or colored overlays to protect your fogs. You can order pre-cut GS specific overlays from CL vendor Aerotech. http://www.aerotect.net/ You can pm Aerotech or just call them.

Here are Aerotech overlays in yellow that I had on my car last year. Sold these overlays to another member.

For something small as the fogs, yes...I'd get a pro for the car though...

Very easy to install as they come pre-cut. If you can apply a ClubLexus decal on your window, you can install the fog overlays Instructions are included, and should take 5 minutes max to apply to each fog. Under 30 bucks for the overlays shipped I believe.

Yep, $24.95 + shipping. No bad deal and is probably a very wise investment. I'll wait until I get my passenger side fog lamp replaced before purchasing. I have a nice nickel-size star right smack in the middle of the lens. Nice! Gotta love the 18-wheelers hauling limestone and other rocks on I-35 at rush hour!
