This is my first time on this forum. I've seen all sorts of advice and tips that are very helpful. I was wondering if anyone can help me. I drive a 2000 GS300. About a few months ago, I noticed that the engine cooling fan as been on all the time. Even when I click the ignition key (when the engine is off) to close the windows, the fan comes on. It's always on, even in the morning when the engine is cool. I'm concerned why it's doing that. Anyone have any ideas??? How do i fix this? I've asked a mechanic at the local Lexus dealer and he doesnt know....claims he's never heard nor seen that problem. Thanks for you time.

Welcome to CL. Sounds like a relay is shorted closed. Have you tried to pull one of the fan relays to see if that will stop the fan from running? I believe the relays are on the drivers side???? But, check boxes 1, 3 and 4.
The next step is to check what ever temperature switch controls that fan. You said fan I have a GS400 with two fans does the 300 only have one fan? If one fan is on all the time then I would really suspect a relay. If both are on I would be looking for a temperature switch. I do not know where it is on the 300. The 400 is near the thermostat.

Not sure if you can do it yourself. It is only a plug in relay that goes into a socket. If you can pull it out then you can change it. You should be able to buy the relay at http://www.trademotion.com/partlocat...83&catalogid=0 if you have the part number. I am not affliated with this site at all. I like to use them cause they have good prices.
Let me know what it turns out to be.
