*Cool* license plate frames?
I'm tired of running around with dealership plates!! The only thing holding me back is that I can't find anything better to replace it with.
What do you guys have?
I have the Black Pearl badging on the rear so I'd like a Chrome frame with the 3-D Lexus in black or Black Pearl, but I can't seem to find this combo anywhere.
I was also contemplating painting a plain old frame the body color of my car as a small project but I'm not sure what material the original frame should be so that the paint adheres to it the best? Plastic, metal, chrome? (i'm guessing plastic)
During our last discussion some people mentioned Carbon Fiber (or carbon fiber look-alike) frames but I can't seem to find these, either, can someone help?
Does anyone else find themselves worrying over this?

IMO, there are no decent frames available (tho I'll admit I've not looked recently). Had a black chrome frame from Beverly Hills Motoring Acc. on my SC, but it has clearance problems on the GS, so it's in my garage.
I despair.

Here are a couple - I had one powder coated to match my Black Pearl / Smoke badges....
It's pretty low key, but shows a little character when the sun hits it.
I got it from Herringtons, but I can't find the data on it, and they can be had just about anywhere.

Looks great Dexter!
Clean yet understated, thats what I'd like.
A few questions:
Did your original license plate have 4 holes/screws?
if not:
did you get the bottom two drilled by yourself or were they just their under the license plate (pre-drilled by Lexus from the factory) (too cold/dark to go check mine outside)
I think the 4 holes looks better and will probably be more conducive against rattles for any future audio installs.

Dexter, my plate frame looks identical to yours. But I was going to have to drill holes in my 430 to mount the lower screws, so it's currently on the workbench.........
Wouldn't have thought there was a difference between the 400 and the 430, but I notice all the owners on this thread have 400s. Any 430 owners with solutions??

So where are the links to the lit plates?
I think the black on crome lettering would work on most dark cars. What would be cool is if they had crome, or letters in the cas color.

With a Girl on my lap.
I know it's lame, but hell, I was in high school. Hehe. Anyways, back to the topic!

I have my ole' college fraternity Kappa Alpha Psi name in a chrome frame... As the one above with Lexus on it... I think people know what car we drive. So why put it on the frame too? The name "Lexus" is on the car. JMO

I don't know if spending $50 for a license plate frame that somebody could steal in less than a minute is very wise. If you're going to do that, at least get some less common Torx-head screws instead of the Phillips.
