This is what chrome grille with black emblem looks like, but mine is not oem black pearl...

This thread is still alive. OK for those who have PM'd me about this you must use a GEL type paint remover. Regular Goof off does not work so don't waste your time. Read the first page ppl.

DONT use a razor blade! The paint remover should loosen it up. Use a tooth brush or those green dish washer scrubs.

sweet even though this thread is 10 yrs old it keeps helping us new gs owners, now i can just chrome mine instead of buying aftermarket for now!

i believe the stuff i used was called "X-stripped" or something like that, works great. If you're picky then go use the aircraft stuff instead.

We still have the GS in the family and after 10 years the chrome still looks great. Glad this DIY has been helpful. Even thou I am an LS owner now still have lots of love for the GS.

I used the citristrip stripper also. I had second thoughts of doing it but the result was nice.
