Just got my car back! And Im going to do this right now.... I read the WHOLE 12 pages but i didnt see anything Im about to ask. I did see one person bring it up but...
Will it hurt if I soaked the whole grill in an acetone/paint thinner solution? Will it eat the chrome if sat too long? I have an extra new grill, and want to have it all chromed and give it to my buddy who is an all chrome dude.
Im only doing the bars on mine as I like the chrome as an accent to the black sides... Thanks in advance.....

That was a cool mod. I just used brake cleaner on a rag, came right off. :-) Nice and shiny.Took like 30 mins, would of killed two birds with one stone had I had a toilet out there too.

knocked this out today... super easy and a must if you have a stock grill. My suggestion is slap on plenty of paint remover. I also used a paste/gel and it was pretty easy to line up. I hit home depot and found some small craft brushes & 15 minute dry paint remover. Once it started to turn white on the grill those spots were ready so it was pretty easy to tell which spots needed more applied. I used an edge of a pen cap which made rounding off the ribs effortless. Looks sweet against a black gs.
Don't be scared to layer it up and scrape like you mean it... it wont scratch. But if you use the wrong thing to peal the grill you might rub off the shine.
I walked backwards leaving my car after putting the grill back on... it looks clean

I used the citristrip (the orange gel) which i got from home depot. cheap and should work just fine. i did mine recently. it took about 20 minutes to sit and you'll eventually notice the paint coming off. a quick mod overall.
