2SAVVY, how has your grille held up since you chromed it? Any probs?

That every other rib, or every second rib stuff is just downright nasty. Even if you chrome the entire grille and go with the bling version it still wouldn't be as nasty as doing a pattern. And letters in/on the grille? Someone should aim our nuclear missiles at your house if you attempt that.

Little bro now has the GS and he tells me no issues at all. Chrome has not peeled or no rust has formed and he drives the GS all year round. As for the pattern idea I couldn't agree more it is downright UGLY.

Glad to see this thread is still alive since its a very cheap mod just as long as no one does the letter in the grill idea then I might have to fly from Canada and fwap someone..

To avoid nuclear war, and the fact that I tried it and it was painful both in doing and in looking at, I chromed the whole thing.

HAHA.. But then again I am an **** freak so maybe thats why it took me an hour and a half.. Nice job.. Lots of great mods can be done to your Lexus with a bit of sweat labour.. Do a search and you'll see what I am saying.. Have fun!

You can get it from Lowes or Home Depot. I used the citrus stuff because it is pretty safe.

I used Painter's Pal spray gel at Home Depot. It took about 6 hours for me because I had to do it one gill at a time. The brush didn't work well for me and I had to take a piece of cloth and scrub on it . In the end, it's worth it!

Only downside is that it doesn't shine unless there is a light source reflected onto it. Like if my car was sitting in a parking garage, you wouldn't be able to tell it had a chrome grille. On a car that came with a chrome grille, you could see it more. Once outside however, it is bright , visable and looks great. And it's been a year for me and no problems whatsoever with the grille!

Not sure. When I go to home depot I will get the name. It is easy to use though. I just put it on with a qtip and let it sit for about 10 - 15 min and then removed it with a straight edge. I used a drafting ruler. I only did the very front of each individual spoke, I didnt go onto the sides of them as I thought it would be too much chrome
