Default My Engine Cover Mod..who said RMM strut bar doesn't clear 430 engine cover??

Well I picked up my new Lithium Ion Dremel Friday afternoon for a little project I have been envisioning for a while. It's been said that the RMM strut bar won't clear the 430 engine cover. I've seen modifications where member have hacked off half the engine cover to make it fit. I didn't like the way it looked; so here's what I did....I think the pics will explain everything:

Oh and the white stuff is just insulation under the engine cover....

Good job but what if you decide you don't want that strut bar anymore?

than you take the piece that you cut out and rivet it back into place or leave it off.

Lookin' good Steve. I say if you dont want the strut bar anymore then maybe it can be filled or covered with some epoxy er something. What the hell do I know. Any who it looks great. Hey one more thing, is your amp and speakers connected to your existing stock stereo? I forgot to ask at the last meet. Have you put some pics up of your trunk?

sweet man. I've been wanting a trd stb for years but didn't want to sacrifice the cover.

are those pencil marks in first pic where you had to cut more or was that the "final cut"?

Looks good...

Hey ChuckB, its just a plastic cover, you can always find another one if you happen put the strut bar in place, i don't see cutting it is a major problem. As you can see CHitwn set up looks good

A strut bar is prob something you'll just keep forever once you have it installed.

----------

PS - how much clearance do you get? Might it rub and create noise?
