My GS400 has a knack for making my right foot extremely heavy and always gives me an ear to ear grin after driving. It makes my wife jealous that I look back at it when i park and spend late nights online on this forum to talk about the car...oh yeah and ball joints and actuators too...Do yourself a favor buy one. Whatever problem you encounter would be far outweighed by the satisfaction of owning one. GS400 FTW.

i would have alot of those problems if i was not married. it's hard to have a gs and be married, makes you want to be single again.

my only problem is the driver side speaker going on and off, and i would have to pound on it to get it working again. Small problem!

List of things I have had replaced or rebuilt on my GS400 99 model year with 125,000 miles:

Alternator (rebuilt) - last summer
Starter (rebuilt) - last summer
Lower ft ball joints - at 90,000 miles
Upper ft ball joints - just last summer
Camshaft position sensor (have new sensor in the garage, will get to it soon)
TPS sensor on throttle body (VERY common) this was done at 55,000 miles
That is pretty much it though. Overall an extremely reliable car. Have had zero issues with door locks, or anything else.

ball joints, actuators, vibrations, rattles... all very minor problems when you look at the big picture.
