Default H&R Wheel Spacers???

Just curious has anyone tried these things on their GS??

If so what are the draw backs if you use the spacers.. Any alignment or breakage problems using a spacer.. I see them advertised on Speedvision all the time but haven't heard if they are worth the money..

Much thanks for any info you can give me..

I think in general, it's better not to use spacer. A spacer is only needed if a wheel doesn't have enough room to fit the brake.

ya, the only thing they are good for is giving you a wider stance and helping you fit bigger brakes.. maybe improving looks, but i think they take away saftey and sturdiness from the car

Thanks guys for the input.. I'm looking at the spacer for the rear of the SC430 since I didn't buy staggered wheels and I want to fill out the wheel well a bit more (Purely cosmetic).. The GS400 spacers will work from what H&R tell me but maybe I should rethink this from a safety point of view..

Some racecars use spacers to push wheels out to make the car wider with a lower center of gravity, hence better cornering. I don't know about the safety issues but seems like they're okay. I think some BTCC and JTCC racecars used to use spacers.

Default spacers

When shopping for wheels @ the Tire Rack, I inquired about spacers for the rear of the GS because I was intrested in a wheel style that has a max width of 8.5". The salesperson said that the Tire Rack doesn't even offer the spacers because it takes too much of a toll on the suspension. He recommended a staggered fitment instead. Sometimes though, depending on the salesperson you speak with , the tire rack seems a bit conservative.

First off, you have one of the most awesome cars on the road, the SC 430. To top it off you have aftermarket wheels? I've also got an SC 430 with 19x8.5 & 9.5 and considered "pushing" the wheels out with spacers, however, I don't want to damage anything on such an awesome ride. Aw hell, just enjoy it like it is....

I do not recommend spacers to clients who buy wheels.

Talking

Hard on the suspension, harder on the wheel bearings.

Thanks guys for all the help.. I've decided to leave the car the way it is.. After dropping 84G's on a SC I don't want to break it.. Time to find an Intake now..

Default H&R Wheel Spacers

I have had them on the rear of my 98 GS400 for 2 years now. I have stock 17" alloys w/ Toyo T1-S's. The improvement in looks is not subtle. I have had several other stock GS4 / GS3 owners comment on how good my car looks and wonder why. The 1" spacers bring the outer face of the tire to where Lexus should have put them in the first place. Bought them through RMM. They said a 1" spacer would not hurt the suspension. The construction of the spacers and the mounting is very robust.
It is a low cost alternative to upgrade the look of the car from the rear vs. new wheels / tires.
