You can get blank keys cut at Ace Hardware, and the shells are on eBay. But BatKing unfortunately does not have a spare transmitter. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1998-...8639QQtcZphoto

Yes they will, it just depends what dealer you take it too. I had to get one cut and programmed and one dealer I took it to said they would not cut it or program it unless I bought it from them. I took it to another and they cut it for free and just charged me the labor to program it.
After it was all done the service manager asked me where I got the key and asked me how much I paid for it. I got a little worried, but told him and to my suprise he said "wow you got a really good deal cause we charge 3x that"

I have heard that before, that a locksmith was able to open and flash our older ecm's. You may want to give one a call and see if they can.

According to the dealer, for 98 GS, it has to change the computer.
The good thing is it seems my auto insurance will cover that but of course I have to pay the $250 deductable.
I am still waiting my home insurance adjuster to call me to see if that is covered. if it can be covered under my home insurance then I don't even need to pay the $250 deductable.
