Default Interior Lights and Alarm not working

If anyone can help, my interior dome lights, gargage opener buttons, and alarm is not working. I just changed out my headunit and after doing that, everything stopped working. The alarm works but it won't activate or unlock the doors from the keys. I checked the fuses, and nothing is blown. All the wires are good behind the dash. One of my friends told me that there may be a fuse behind the dash that may be blown.

If anyone has any ideas or suggestions, please feel free.

Thanks in advance

If I were u , I would IMMEDIATELY go back to the place where you got your headunit installed. This should not have happened if they knew what they were doing. What kind of headunit was installed? A fliptop one? Its one of the fuses IF the fuse was the case and not sloppy install work.

The install work was done great. What happened was that the headunit was installed properly and everything was working great. Interior lights, alarm, garage settings---everything. The headunit started messing up, and I called the maufacturer and had to send it back to them to get it fixed. I took out the headunit myself, and after that, everything stopped working. I plugged everything back the way it was, because I made sure of that. I had to take out the AC unit, and everything, but that is all working fine. I've gotten the headunit back and had it professionally installed, but the installer could not find what was wrong. He told me that he had worked on a Lexus before and something similar to this happened---it came out to be a fuse behind the enitre dash they had to replace. I don't know if that is true, but that is what he told me. He checked all the wires back there for me---and I know he did, because I was looking through them with him.

I don't know what it could be, and I am wondering if the dealership will give me hell because I replaced the factory headunit---what do you guys think????

Default Check ALL of the fuses

I had the same problem. Check the fuses next to the battery. The GS has about 100 fuses in about 20 different locations in the car.

If he says he is going to charge you more to fix the interior lights, alarms etc... you should be wary of his intentions. Alot of installers are pretty shady and are willing to scam a few extra bucks out of customers. Alot of my friends did aftermarket installs of headunit on GS's and I've never heard of your problem.

Try asking Mean Gene, he should know more about this.
