Default Calling all aftermarket HID experts

I figure we can put this one to bed. I think I have read all the post on HID's. Everyone has a different opinion. But here is my situation(I hope it fits everyone elses with the same concerns)...I have a 98 GS300 that did not come with factory HID's. I have regular headlights. I would like to replace them with HID's. I dont want to void my warranty in the process. I dont want to get bulbs that will melt my wires or that will burn out in 2 months. If you say buy a kit tell me where and what. If its a bulb tell me the same. I figure all you guys that had personal opinions could duke it out here.

Goto ebay and do a search for "9006 hid kit". Do not pay more than 350 for a set!!

That guy listed that he had "HID conversion with 6000K bulbs " does that mean he has some kind of kit with the bulbs?

If you are replacing your low beams or the fog lights get 9006. For high beam get 9005.

People on this board have said that the Phillips HID Kit have a yellow look. Some prefer Eagle which have a purple look.

You need a HID conversion kit for 9006 application

H1, H4, H7, 9006 and 9007 and different styles of bulbs.

For each style of bulb you need a different conversion kit.

Since the GS uses 9006 bulbs you need a 9006 HID conversion kit. If you had H4 bulbs you will need a H4 HID conversion kit.

Hope that helps.

A K2 kit is located here:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/aw-cg...item=599589652

They have a 6000K color temp. (purple hue).

Get some feedback on the K2 and Eagle kits before you purchase them though. Most of the guys here that converted to HID used Philips.

Thanks for the info. Do you recommend the Phillips? If so could you get me a good price on them? What do you have in your car?
