I think it's your fuel pump. Mine's been doing that over the past two weeks. Started off two Wednesdays ago, came out of the bank and car would not start, just cranks and cranks. Took a mallet and hit the gas tank, wolla! Car started. Drover fine last week but Friday it kept shutting off on the highway but started fine again. However this past weekend it finally bit the dust and I'm waiting on a fuel pump replacement because it just won't kick in.
Sit inside, turn off the stereo, turn off your a/c and vents, close the door, and click on your seat belt, this to make sure there is total silence. Stick your key in, and let the steering wheel adjust then turn your key to the on position, listening towards the back seat behind the driver. If you hear nothing but a click towards the front, then your fuel pump aint kicking in.
