Default morning startup problems

ok, tried a search, but didn't yield much.

my 99 gs4 usually stays in the garage. just recently i parked my car outside a few nights and am having problems starting it up. on the first attempt at starting the car, it would turn once and die.

i re-turn the ignition key and it would turn maybe twice and die.

and usually on the third attempt, i could get the car to succesfully start. additionally, i could hear some kind of quiet squealing for the first few minutes of warm up.

has anyone had this problem before?
this happens when i leave my car outside for a long period of time (8+ hours), and throughout the day it starts up fine.
and the squealing of the belt is new to me.

thanks in advance for your help.

Get that checked out dude, thats not supposed to happen, especially with a GS.. do your light flicker when it dies? changed the fuel filter? checked the air filter? is it freezing cold where u live at? when was the last time the car had a tune up?

light does not flicker, but upon 1st try of startup, it does sound like its struggling.

i live in CA, so the weather is pretty solid, never freezing cold.

it is just so strange that this happens once, and then is OK for the rest of the day.

Try getting a tune up bro, and see and then see what happens, it could be a number of things, a tune up will illliminate all the minor things that could be causing this..

yeah, a tuneup and 90k mile maintenance was in the works.
but i was wondering if this was a common problem found in GS4's.

Nah man, not a common problem at all, what I've heard a lot was the car shutting off when your driving (this has happened to me also..) which was attributed to a loose battery or electrical connection..

is this problem onces in a while or most of the time, is your battery still good or your starter?? when was your last tune up.

well i had this problem now, and it still sometime occurs, i dont know if its my ignition system, but i had a compustar alarm system installed and i think that the immobilzer is not installed correctly so so times i even stick my key in ignition it would just crank and wont start but unless i take the key out and give it like a minute or two and then it would just start up.

i believe my car might have done the same thing.. i kno when i leave it sitting for a few days or a week.. when i start it it'll rev high quickly as part of the startup but everything else is fine ... it has done that since the first day i got it...
