"Throttle Service"???
Went to the lex dealer with my friend and had his O2 sensors changed, they said his vehicle needed a "throttle service" (400 dollars, yea..no) any one know what this means? I'm guessing they remove your Intake Manifold and your TB and clean it..am I close?

400 bucks for a TB cleaning is a huge rip-off.I have a guy that can do a professional fuel injection service and throttle body cleaning for under 100 bucks. Fellow NYC members had the service done by my guy. Review this thread https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...ht=amsoil+meet If you are interested, let me know.

thanks bro, but I did that already, even went and bought a new TB gasket but my car still has this problem of 'surging' from time to time, could that be the TB or the Throttle Positioning Sensor?

whoooo, how do u clean that properly? I tried to clean my MAF on my 92 LS with electronic cleaner and ended up destroying it, had to get another one, lucky the junk yard near by or that would have been a 1000 bucks to relpace at the dealership!!!!!!!!!!!!

Not to hi-jack this thread but I got the TB cleaning and fuel injection service initially done by the dealer about 4 years ago when I first bought my car. Do they take the TB apart to clean thoroughly or do they just clean the throttle plate? They mentioned that the TB is taken apart to be cleaned and I firmly believe that they never did this as the screws/bolts never looked like they were touched! The reason why I'm asking this is because is there a professional service that is better than our DIY TB cleaning of just the throttle plate? Is there a more extensive/thorough way to clean it without damaging the TB? and where? Thanks!
