Help: Who has a repair manual
Im going to replace my intermediate shaft assembly which is connected to the steering column. I felt this shaft and it has a lot of play in it. The play is from the universal joints and I think it making the clunking sound I hear when the car dips. I felt a normal intermediate shaft from another Lexus and it has no play.
If anyone has the repair manual on how to change this out, please scan it in or attach a pdf file.
I'm hoping that I don't need to pull the steering wheel/air bag off. I could remove it from the bottom steering rack but want to do research before attempting this.
Thanks
Here is a picture of what I'm talking about

thanks gsteg,
wondering if you have the pdf for the other intermediate shaft. the pdf that you supplied is removing the yolk which is connected to the intermediate shaft.
from the instructions, it calls for me to drop the whole steering column? i was hoping there would be an easier way.

the yolk is connected to the steering rack and the intermediate shaft is connected to the yolk.
not sure if i have to take the rack down to take off the yolk to get to the intermediate shaft.
i guess that is my main question.

I've never taken out the GS' shaft before. I've taken it out of my parent's camry, but I dont remember if I had to take out the whole steering assembly to do that. I think all I did was wiggle its way out. why dont you try it? Worse comes worse, it doesn't come out at all.
