Default Lexus Scratched My Car!!!!!

Hey guy's, I have an 02 black on tan GS430. Today, i brought my car back in to the dealership for another wheel balance because my steering wheel was shaking at 60 mph after the dealership had done a road force about 2 weeks ago. Well, all was good when i went to pick it up,it was ready, and the service guy said they were washing my car. They finally brought my car around, and i got in and drove off and went to the store. But when i stepped outside of my car and looked at it when the sun was shining on it, i noticed alot of scratches on my passenger side door from the wash like they washed it with a bristle brush! It was another spot in the back of the car as well. I drove back up there, someone looked at it and documented this for me. He said he would have the head service manager call me on Monday.

Can i get Lexus to repaint my whole car? What will they most likely do to handle this?

Thanks

they will most likely buff the scratches out.

Why would you repaint the whole car?

Automatic car wash is the kiss of death. Don't ever do it! I would seriously doubt they would repaint your car, and wouldn't think that was a good idea anyway. A really good body shop should be able to get the scratches out, at the dealers expense, of course. There are some other threads on this subject, and it's the black car guys that have the biggest problem. I NEVER let anyone auto-wash any of my cars. The wife has been threatened not to do that either. Good luck.

Sounds like the scratches can be buffed out. Im sure they will either do the work themselves or have someone come in and do the detail work, if the scratches are bad enough they will just repaint the panel

SOrry about your paint.. Its really hard to trust dealerships these days.. ITs all about volume and how fast they can get your car out and ready for the next one.. Did they at least fix the steering issue?

Hey guy's, thanks for the replies. Yeah, they fixed the vibration in the steering wheel issue. I just put on some brand new ContiExtremeContact tires on about a month ago. I have the chrome 5 star gs wheels. Well, i had the vibration then, especially in the seats. So the dealer suggested i get a road force balance. Well, they did it, and the car felt great afterwards. But about a couple of days later, i noticed that the two tires in the front were facing the wrong direction (they are directional tires). So i took it back to the dealer, and they switched them to the right side. This threw off the balancing i guess, and the vibration came back. Well, i took it back up there today and the service guy said that he would recommend a regular spin balance instead of another road force because the road force computer would place the tires in the position for the least amount of vibration, but they would be on the wrong side of course. They said that the Continentals are a low grade tire and i should never get directional tires. I kind of ignored them because these tires got good reviews from the guy's here on the forum and on tire rack. So, they did a regular spin balance and everything is smooth now!
