What type of solution did you use to get the paint off of the grill. BTW it looks great. I have been wanting to see what it looks like on the pearl and now I have seen yours im gonna have to jump on the wagon.

Started out with 3m Adhesive remover. Ran out of 2 cans. Used engine cleaner. Not strong enough. Finshed with 2 cans of Pyroil Carb. Cleaner. Im still dizzy. Worked out great though. Im going to chrome out the 01 grill im getting from Steve this weekend. I will post a pic next week when I gain "consciousness."

mayandoom,
Looks really nice.. For you guys who don't want to pass out when doing your grill just go to home depot and ask for Citristrip (Safe for indoor use) nice orange smell and it works great.. Just apply it with a brush all over the paint wait 20 - 30 minutes then use the edge of the arm of a plastic pen cap as a scrapper (Safe it doesn't scratch the chrome yet strong enough to peel the paint).. Helped my buddy do his '01 GS this evening and we stripped all the paint.. The '01 GS grill looks WAY better than the older GS grill since the ribs are much fatter and the chrome looks amazing IMO..
Here is a pic of that gel stripper I mentioned above..

Can you please tell me what comes with the 01 grill? Specifically, I am wondering if it will come with a new "L". Also, how much? And you are certain that it will fit on the 98~2000 model.
Thanks.

Suggestion check with SUPRATRD (Steve @ Carson Toyota) if he has another '01 grill kicking around.. I noticed he sold the one he had in the GS Classified section to Mayandoom already.. I'm pretty sure when you buy the grill new it has the "L" logo along with it but Steve is the man to answer that for sure.. Send him a PM and he'll hook you up with all the info you need!

I was just wondering, would u just be able to soak the grill in one of the solutions that u guys were talking about, then just taking a High pressure water pump, Like for instance the ones at the do it urself car washes, and blast away the paint since it's alot softer? or would that damage the grill? Just curious..
