This is pretty funny

You get what you pay for... If a paint shop strips your existing paint to bare metal then repaint in multiple stages (primer, base coat, multi clear), you are getting a damn good paint job

cough cough... i am afraid to drive my car

if u can get a paint job for 2k.... well.... screw you! lol

its unheard of to find prices like that in FL

i guess it really depends where you are.

i got a quote for 10k.... yes 10k! for a stock respray with minimal fiberglass work.( i told the guy to go and die)

but i ended up dropping about 7-8 for a black respray with engine bay and cracks and all that jazz. with some body work and parts.

I know a guy who quoted me 2K for a full respray which included taking off the hood, trunk and doors. He was a friend of a friend so this was a hook-up price. I offered to help with the sanding and disassembling but he said he would do it all himself. The guy had done some work for me previously so I know he does quality work. He was the overflow painter for the Lexus dealership.

So it's possible to get a good deal for that price but please be careful and do your due dilligence. Even $2000 is too much to waste.

He said he can do a black/charcoal two-tone for 2000, including jams, under hood/trunk. Basically make it look stock. His work is just as good as a professional shop. I looked over my friends bimmer in the sun for a while trying to find any runs, drips, dry spots, orange peel, dust particles. couldnt find anything!.even under the rockers was full color and smooth as glass. I think im going to get my car over there in about a month when I buy a cheap winter vehicle.

I don't know about that 2-tone, I would stick with one color, preferably the charcoal or the SportDesign Graphite Grey.

That is a great price considering they removed the engine and did everything properly. I know where to get when I want to get my car redone with the MB Black Obsidian Metallic. Cant wait to see how it turned out. I wish I had gone to them in the first place, I had to have the bumpers resprayed and I am picking the car up today.

Goodness those are high estimates! Although for the past 5 yrs or so prices on paint and paint materials have been getting exceedingly ridiculously high. On average I'd say between 2000 to 2500 for complete paint and some minimal repairs, without any removal and installation of pieces.

I would suggest a local repair facility that use's PPG, You have a lifetime written warranty with your RO.

I'm looking for a good bodyshop to paint my project JPI 1000whp. Anyone has any suggestion on what kind of color? Please keep this in mind, I don't want anything fancy and loud.

The IS-F blue looks great.
