Default How many Quarts Engine Oil? GS300 , I have searched!

Hello,

I would like to confirm how many quarts of oil for a 03 GS300. I've searched and didn't find much. A quick answer would be appreciated but some key words for the search is fine as well. I've searched "quarts oil gs300", "quart oil gs300", and also "quarts oil gs 300"

Please help!

I can't tell you the exact number off the top of my head but it is between 5-6 qts. with a new oil filter. Check your owner's manual for an exact number. Get 6 qts and you'll be covered.

i've checked too.. it says 5.7.. but it doesnt specify with or without filter.

Typically, I only need to know this during an oil change, which includes filter at all.

So it is 5.7 quarts at filter and oil change or just oil change only?

I added 5.7 and it still looks a bit shy. I wanted to add the .3 to make it the full 6 quarts but i am unsure.

Please help!

Yea its 5.7 qts with filter, 5.4 without, according to the manual. If it is still not at the correct level, then add accordingly. Make sure you are doing the correct procedure when checking the oil. According to the manual, drive the car 'til it is at the normal operating tempature. Then, park it in a level spot and turn the engine off. Wait a few minutes, then wipe clean the dipstick and put it back all the way and then check the level.

Actually you don't want to overfill the oil. It's best to keep it between the high and low mark. If you drive hard, high oil level will cause it to splash around and even leak out. If the oil level is low, you might oil starve the engine during hard turns. I usually fill mine with about 5.5qts.

Yea, make sure you do not over fill the oil. It is easier to add more than it is to take out too much. The Tech's at our shop, Westside Lexus, recommend that you change the filter everytime you do an oil change. They are the cheapest part of the oil change and the part doing the majority of the work. better safe that sorry.
