Default I replaced the spare tire with a Supra TT one, now the trunk carpet is sunk in.

Well it's been like this for a while now, but more recently I'm starting to put stuff in the trunk so it's starting to come up.

I replaced the stock full spare tire with a Supra TT one because I have bigger brakes in the front. The Supra one is abotu half the size of the stock one, so now the trunk area is sunk in when there's weight on it.

I tried adding some foam pieces (from packaging) and it helped out a bit, but it's not secure and it wears down.

Any tips on this or materials I can put over the Supra spare to help make it higher to give support for the carpet?

I'll try to take some pics tomorrow if I remember.

Just get a few aluminum rails and weld it up. If you need something a little stronger just use some steel rods, but it weighs a bit more. Of course...this is assuming you have a metal chop saw and a welder

I just recently started carrying a Supra TT spare in my GS400, and have the same issue! LOL. Maybe a chunk of styrofoam wrapped in black duct tape would work.

There is like a black plastic cover that goes on top of the spare, then the carpet finally goes on top.

I'm not exactly sure what you mean... or how I would go about taking the wheel out if these "rails" are built.

Just a simple box frame made out of metal rails/bars that sits in there. When you need access to the spare, just pull the rail straight up and out. It's not gonna be welded onto the car or anything lol.
