Question Color Confusion

I went to the Lex dealer to check out a pre-owned Silver/Black GS4, but it was sold. However, they have a Cinnabar/Ivory GS4 sitting there.

What do you guys think about the color? I really thought that I wouldn't get a GS unless it had a black interior, or maybe gray. Anyone wish they had opted for a black interior after getting ivory or visaversa?

I don't want to get it and then change my mind 3 months down the road wishing it was black. But there is something about that car that's making me reconsider!

Default Color Choices

Don't get it!!! Wait for what you want. I was looking for a Black/Black GS4 and found lots of Blk/Tan. I was almost done with the deal on the Tan one when something told me to hold off. I knew if I got the tan one I would have been kicking myself later for not waiting. It was worth the wait. As luck would have it, the dealer that I was working with took one in on trade 3 days later - and now it's mine.

If you have you heart set on a certain color combo, you're spending a lot of money - so get what you want.

Good Luck!

altaf, couple of points to consider:

first, I agree with BlkInBlk. Get precisely what you want or you'll have some nagging remorse every time you sit in your compromise AND everytime you see what you really wanted. Much bummage. I special ordered my GS and was waffling between black and charcoal (which, as you've no doubt seen, is much lighter than it sounds). I live in the South and had had charcoal on my SC of the previous 7.5 years, but was concerned about how much hotter black would be. I ordered charcoal, but changed my mind for the greater contrast between black and MilSilver, thus adding ANOTHER month to the wait for my car. But I got exactly what I wanted, so it was worth it.

second, the Cinnabar/Ivory is an absolutely gorgeous combination and not very common, at least around here. The ivory interior requires a bit more care as far as keeping it gorgeous, but we've got a 3.5 year old Crystal White/ivory RX, and it's not been much of a bother, even with two young boys. However, see #1 above. ONLY get this car if you decide it is absolutely the combination you want!

just mho, though. Good luck.

I would have to agree with the others. There's no need to settle when getting a car of this caliber. Waiting for exactly what you want is the only way to go!

I agree with the others, make sure to get what you want.

BUT, as the owner of a cinnabar/ivory GS4, I have to say that it is a great combination!!! When polished and waxed and the sun hits, the paint is a beautiful two tone metallic red-orange. Under normal light it appears as a dark red. And there is the added advantage that it is not a common color. At the last two local CL meets it was the only cinnabar there.

Thanks folks for helping me stick with what I REALLY wanted. I'm gonna wait and get one w/black interior... even though I could have gotten a pretty good deal on the ivory one. No regrets!

Yup, that's the color, but it's not hooked up like that!!! I like the cinnabar exterior, but the ivory interior gives it a larger feel, while I'm looking for more of a cockpit. That's why I'm gonna wait and find one with a black interior.

altaf, you wont regret it trust me, black interior, especially with the wood trim inside, makes the car look awsome, I had a taurus with very light interior, and I know I shouldn't compare the leather of these two cars but the point is that it would stain and wear out really fast. Best leather is black, in my opinion
