Favorite tire on the GS?

I'm going to need new tires soon. So for all those who have 19" or 20" rims, what tire has been your favorite?
I'm looking for max summer performance (my car is never driven in snow and rain), yet I still want to maintain some quietness in the cabin. I hate excessive tire roar in the cabin, especially since the GS is so quiet....that's why the BFGoodrich KD series is probably not something I'd probably like from what I've heard, though the tire seems like a quality tire, with nice traction, at a fair price.
Pirellis and Michelins are hella expensive, are they worth it? Do they last...especially if you can't rotate them because of the staggered setup?
What do you all think of Toyo Proxes?
(Mods, I know this could go in the tire section, but I specifically wanted peope with the GS model to offer their input)

I have the Vredestein's Ultrac Sessanta in 20's and love them. Found them on ebay for $800 for staggered setup. The traction is awesome!! There was a performance review of tires and the Vredenstein's outperformed all of the well known brands.
My vote: Vredestein's Ultrac Sessanta

General Acclam UHP are the best tires i had ever owned. I am running 245/35/19 front 275/ 30/19 rear, great treadwear, great performance, great in wet, u wont be disappointed.

Thanks, PGA, Aw and Coco...
I have to say, I am REALLY feeling those Vredestein's Ultrac Sessanta, PGA. Lots of positive reviews...quiet and sticky and affordable and can be swapped from side-to-side (NOT directional, wow!). Quadruple thumbs up! What specific size did you get on your 20s? And does your rim/tire have that "stretched" look, or does the Ultra Sessantas fit pretty flush with the edge of your rim? Any pix?![Smilie](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
I think they make a 275/35/20 and a 275/30/20. I suppose one is wider with LESS sidewall height, and one is taller with more sidewall height. Which is which?

I owned Continental Extreme Contact before these, and they were better during the snow season.

+1 michelin ps2.
very expensive but do you really want to get less than stellar tires that are going to be noisy for the 2nd half of their usable life when you can get the michelin ps2 and have it wear a nice long tread life while being QUIET the whole time?
I'm running 245/40/18 and 275/35/18 - they were really pricey but when I have passengers in the car I'm glad I got them because we're not all screaming at each other just to be heard.

I have to agree, I had 245/35/20 and 285/30/20 and these were just as quiet on the day I switched em out as the day I placed them on. I think these are the best tires I have owned (if expense was not a problem) otherwise, I have been extremely happy with my Bridgestone RE960. I wanted to try the Genereal UHP, I have not heard a bad thing about them, but they didn't have the size I wanted in 18's.

Again, I don't need snow, ice or rain traction.
Tread life, quietness and MAXIMUM GRIP are the priorities, in that order. Tread life is important, unless the tire is substantially cheaper. Then, I don't mind so much. I can get those Vredestein Sessentas for about HALF the price of the Michelins.
Are they're really going to last only half as long? I might have to test that theory.
SP2s are $350+ at TireRack, so they had better handle REAL well, offer GREAT treadlife and be quiet as he11 at prices between $350-400.
The Michelin A/S is a little less, but I'm not getting an all-season tire, unless it's substantially less and still has excellent grip.
Are the Michelins directional? I have staggered setup, so swapping from side to side is a plus.
