Ball Joints
Guys,
My steering wheel sometimes (not always) shakes at between 100 - 110km/h and when i'm braking from 60 - 40km/h.
Done alignment and balacing couple of times and it still came back.
There is no clunking sound whatsoever but only intermittent vibrations on the steering wheel. is this a sign that the lower ball joints are going bad? my milage is at 98k

Vibration while driving at hgwy speeds could be bad tie rods, unbalanced tires, bent wheel, bent hub, or any worn out suspension components.
Vibration in the wheel while braking would be warped brake rotors. You need them turned to eliminate the runout.

there are a ton of threads on wheel vibrations at those speeds, it's very common, do a search and you will most likely find what your looking for.
Some common corrections are:
steering rack pretensioner adjustment - if lowered
steering rack bushing kit
hunter roadmaster wheel balance
all the other stuff like alignment, checking wheels for bends, uneven tire wear, running cheap cast wheels or suspension maintenance are all stuff that should be done anyway.

If you're shaking while driving, I'd check the tires and front end first. Bring it to a service garage and have them check for loose tie rods/ball joints. (Or do it yourself by jacking up one tire and getting a long metal bar. Put the bar underneath the tire and lift up on it while a another person shines a light at your suspension components ) then have the garage check for a belt seperation on the tires or just perform a high speed balance if the tires are fine.
(you could also check for a belt seperation on the tires by having one person spin each tire, and run your hand while it's spinning to see if you can feel any spots that the tire isn't round)
if you're shaking while braking, it's a brake issue like everyone said. replace the front pads and rotors. the reason I say front is because if it was the rear rotors that were bad you'd get a vibration in the seat
