Starter? WTF

Just did the starter this morning and thank god I didn't try to do it myself. We started around 10AM and was finished by 1PM. I first thought "oh, it's just a starter" then I researched and once I saw that it's underneath the intake manifold and might need coolant pipe removed, I called up my friends and had a master tech at Toyota.

I watched and helped a bit through the process and I'm glad I didn't do it myself. There are so many sensors/wires/couplers you need to be careful; especially the sensor that sits right by the starter with a really thin wire. And with all the heat that builds around there, those wires/couplers are extremely fragile.

wow super helpful
i have the 98 and my uncle just tapped the starter and it turned over quickly
but every single day and every single time i jump in my car
i sit, wait for all the beeping and noises to cease then turn over
fail
try again
fail
and then it works
always have hope...haha
i needa get it replaced
