Hey Stupid, you left your lights on....

Why is it that my 99 GS3 doesn't not have a warning sound when the headlights are left on after the key is removed or the engine is turned off?
A few times, I have forgotten to turn off the headlights like during a daytime rain. Usually, I just let my daytime running lights do the job but not always.
Previous cars have always had that obnoxious ding ding sound that reminds you that the lights are on.
I've not seen this discussed on this forum in the past. Is my car like all other 99s?

Okay everyone, it sounds like it's just me but....
Once I parked in a parking garage after driving in the rain. When I got back to my car, the battery was dead because I left the lights on and....the doors had been locked.
I'll try it again but I really think I'm the odd one out here.
Also...my fog light switch seems to be going bad. Could I have a faulty headlight switch that's causing both these issues?

hey same storry here my fog light switch is faulty too. i have to push the stick in towards the steering wheel sometimes to get them to stay on. one time they were strobing! hahaha. i also recently locked my car in parking garage only to come back with the lights still on... this has happened a few times recently after i switched my tail lights out. does it have anything to do with that?? even pushing the lock button twice doesnt work and all the doors are shut tight???? lost...
