Ok, this is the first GS that I've kept longer than 20K miles. Here's my question. My first 2 GS 300's basically had no rattles. I have a 2003 with 48K miles. Everything in the car rattles now. Anything other than very smooth roads and the dash rattles constantly. The rubber around the drivers door, which is right at ear level, makes a rubber rubbing noise constantly. Go over bumps or railroad track crossings and EVERYTHING in the car rattles. This is the 5th Lexus that I've owned...This is the only Lexus that I've owned that has more than the ocassional rattle. What's going on????

Do you know if it's ever been in a collision? Or had any major repairs done. It's possible whoever put the interior back together messed up badly.

Gabeshell, i guess we're in the same boat. mine is 2003 with mileage around 44K and rattles around dash area everytime through a bump or non-smooth-roads. And it's never been into accident...

There are common rattles with the 2gen GS's. There is a glove box rattle, sunroof shade rattle, gauge cluster rattle and mine had an A pillar rattle. Most have fixes which you can find. The A pillar which took me a while to find where it was coming from, was the worst one. It made noises, rattling constantly until I fixed it with some felt. If you search you should pull a great deal of info on it. Hope this helps.

a get this damn sueaky noise over bumps...i dont think its any of my bushings..

but something in the interior..around the glove box area.


wen u have a luxury car with LEATHER...these noises feel like a DRILL in the middle of the night...

Press down on your A pillar to see if that makes the rattle go away. This was the major source of the squeeking/rattling coming from the car on irregular roads. Once I fixed this it was such a huge relief...no more econobox sounds.
