remote start question (genius1512 and anyone else)
Hey genius1512:
What kind of remote startb do you have? Is it an add on or did you have to change the entire alarm system? Everywhere I go, shops tell me that the would have to disable my factory alarm and install a totally new system for at least $300. Theres gotta be an add on remote start kit that i can get. does anyone have any suggestions?

I have also been told the same. My 98 Camaro had remote start and It worked flaulessly with the Viper alarm. I can remember it not starting the car twice in 3 years of showing off.

The guy at my Lexus place says that you can't really have a remote starter. The way the ignition works, there is some type of chip in your key that the ignition looks for before it will start. He told of cases where there were two Lexus keys on the same keychain or even the Mobil speed pass next to the Lexus key and the car wouldn't start.
