Help! Lighting gurus!!!
I posted this in the lighting section but haven't gotten many hits, please help! I have a 2000 GS400 and just recently replaced the accent wedge bulbs in the Hi-beam housings (PolarG M6 that burnt out on me) with 5 SMD LED bulbs (bought these LED's from JP_Warden on Ebay). They look great but now I noticed that my DRL's don't work! I checked the Hi-beams and both of those don't work either! What gives? I don't see anything in the fuse panels for DRL's or hi-beams. Could these LED's have caused this problem eventhough they are different sockets???
Thanks,
Nick

they should be independent of each other. there are fuse for the hgih beam i think, they are on the ecu on the right (passenger side) of the engine bay, it's long fuse box IIRC. i think both low beam and high beam fuses are there

Parking brake was not on and all fuses seem to be OK. The bulbs don't even look burnt and filament inside seems to be in tact. I'm so pissed right now...Are these lights (Hi-Beams) arranged in a series circuit where if one goes out both don't light up? I mean what the hell are the chances that BOTH bulbs went out at the same time? Shouldn't I get a "lamp malfunction" light on my dash? All I know is that the DRL's worked about 2 days ago before I installed these LED's. These can't be associated with this problem...can they?

Did you try replacing them with another bulb and see if the DLR worked? I used a LED for the same bulb and now my LED's flicker. I understand that it is illegal, but it looks cool at night.

I'm going to try swapping back in the oem hi-beams/DRL's that are collecting dust right now in my closet. However, I can't even switch back to the old PolarG M6 wedge bulbs that I previously had in there because I threw them out already (one was bad, the other was good). <---stupid. My DRL's were working when they were in there.

Just swapped back the OEM hi-beams/DRL's they were not blown when I stored them away. They do not work in my car as well! I even tried to put my old PolarG M4 bulbs in there (they were replaced by the M6's later on) and the Hi-Beams/DRL's still didn't work. What am I missing here.
Knowns:
1. Hi-beams and DRL's worked a couple of days ago
2. One 168/194 PolarG M6 wedge bulb went out
3. Replaced both wedge bulbs with 5 SMD LED wedge bulb from JP_Warden on Ebay
4. New wedge bulbs work great but Hi-Beams/DRL's now do not work
5. No smoke was seen coming from anything
6. All fuses seem to look fine
7. Hi-Beam light bulbs seem to look OK as far as filament goes
8. Harnesses are fully clipped into the backs of all bulbs
9. Swapped back every combination and cannot get Hi-beams/DRL's to work
10. No "lamp out" indicator present on dash
11. Pulling my hair out like a maniac...
The only other thing I could think of is a ground came loose or the relay went bad miraculously. Is this possible? Any other suggestions? Since the LED's use different wattage/voltage than standard 168/194 wedge bulbs could this have effected the proper current going to my DRL's?

Found out what the problem was...blown bulbs. lol. I can't believe that my oem high beams that I stored away were blown too; that's weird, I thought I would have thrown them out. When I saw that these didn't work I assumed that there was something major wrong. I went to a friend's local shop and we threw in some Xenon 4300K 9500 bulbs and both the High beams and DRL's work great! Thanks for the help anyways guys!
