Default and haFairly new owner of a GS ve a 20" rim question.

I just ordered a set of 20" rims for my 2000 GS300. I believe the size of the wheels are 20x8.5 in the front and 20x9 in the back. Not sure what size tires they're going to give me, but the guy at the store said he'll hook up a nice look. My question is how will this look when i slap them on??? will this look lifted? do i need to lower the car (which i dont really want to do)? He said is should look just right and no need to lower. Please help! Thanks! I really dont want to lower it, but if i have to because of the look, than i will. but if it looks good without, then that'll be perfect.

always looks better if you lower the car on aftermarket wheels to minimize the gap.

also, need your wheel offsets to determine how they'll look.

for your tires, front should be 245's on 8.5s and rears maybe 265(?) on 9s. Might want to double check on the rears. I have 8.5s in front and i'm on 245s.

You don't HAVE to lower it, but it's going to look like a 4x4.

That's cool man... yea, you will lose the original ride if you lower, you will lose the float and general uncontrolled feeling of the car at higher speeds.

If you want to do it right, coilovers are the way to go, but if they are out of your budget, srpings and shocks will work too.

I put h-tech springs on my car and the ride change was like stock but with control and what I considered to be a tighter to feel to the road. Hard to describe, but it was much better. There is a thread, sticky I think that talka about all of the different coilovers, if you go that route, it is must ready before pulling the trigger.

There are pics of cars with 20's out there, but it does look like a 4x4 without height adjustment. It does depend on the look your going for. Do a search for 20's in the 2GS bucket, you'll find some not lowered. Wear your flame suit, opinions are usually hot in those threads.

21's, umm I dont know, I know Bluelex or someone has 21" zones on his, but the suspension is setup for it and yes, the car is lowered, looks amazing!

Spend sometime searching and you'll see that there is a huge difference in look and from what people state, feel.

Good luck
