i've been searching & reading about ball joints replacement in this forum, and seems like most people change their ball joints around 90K miles. But my GS300 is only 44K AND already made that ugly noise since 2 or 3 months ago. Should I replace it now ??
Most likely your balljoins. Just have lexus inspect your balljoints for vertical play, or check it yourself. I wrote a little DIY in a post somewhere. search for it.
I changed my balljoints at 15k miles just for some peace of mind. They were making clicking sounds occasionally. Keep in mind, I drive the car pretty hard so that's the reason for changing out the balljoints so soon. The noises went away after I changed them.
hmm then what is it that made that noise ? the noise only occur when i was trying to go backward/forward after parking....
That noise may be your bushings! I have the same noise when backing and braking harsh on the left frontend! This is common when we lower our cars, it causes the bushings to wear faster! I will be installing the Daizen bushings, RCA's-(camber-fix), ball joints and Daizen sway bars this week! Hopefully this will alleviate that noise!
The noise is not a clicking sound its a clunk (once)when backing and clunk when stopping harsh! If it's clicking, it may be your ball joints! I'm changing mine just to be safe!
