Default So my car just dropped on its.....Help PLZ!!!NOW WITH PICS

So for those who saw my previous thread, i had noises in the driver's front while in traffic about 3 days ago. Today i decide that rim season is over and so i changed my rims to stock and so that i can put it away for a few months. Right after i changed that tire i lowered the car back to its wheel, then i wanted to moce a lil forward so i can reach the left side tire and then BANG! the car dropped to its SOMETHING, i can still turn but the wheel is really tacked in. The question is now IS THIS COSTLY? What am I looking at for repairs and what is it? \Please help me. 98 gs 3 lowered with tanabe nf210 on stock shocks.
thanks guys

Why don't you jack your car back up, take the wheel off and take a picture. If we can see what's going on we can help you better.

ok guys, i took the wheel off and the wheel assembly moves without the other wheel moving. Keep in mind, i have never seen a balljoint. but the piece looks like it sits in a another ballshaped piece with a rubber on it, so what i did was prolly took it out of its socet. Think of knee where it hooks up to a joint that is ball looking. But it a lower piece. \will take pics next time

Eh, where did you jack the car up from? It sounds like you busted the tie rod. If you can still rotate the wheel and have the other side not move. Post up pix and we can tell you whats wrong. If it was the balljoint, consider yourself VERY lucky that you weren't on the road. If the car just dropped in the garage then there's probably not too much damage. Just replace the balljoint and tie rods for about $200-300 and you're set. Now if you were driving on the road, you fender and wheel liner would be busted(quite expensive fix $1-2k) so again consider yourself lucky.

drewefx, take off your wheel and lift the rotor assembly. You'll need to lift with an equivalent force of about 60lbs. If the whole thing moves up even the slightest, then your balljoints are probably on its way out. I believe Lexus allows up to 0.1mm of balljoint play before it's considered out of spec.

But to be on the safe side, have the tie rod and balljoints replaced anyways. They're about $200 total for parts. The installation isn't too hard if you have a pitman puller. There is a DIY if you search.

also, get an alignment once you're done.

probably tie rods (or maybe steering rack?), lower ball joints, and whatever else it may have landed on. I hope it didn't dent the oil pan or something.

and yes, as JeffTsai said, you are very lucky that it wasn't in motion. I'd jack the car up again and take the wheels off to keep off the stress from other suspension parts.
