Thank you for your help. Would this be a staggered look? I def. would like to go with a staggered look, but one in which would not cause clearance issues. Another guy has told me that the initial set up that I was thinking of would be not be staggered and would have pretty much the same lip. So a +35 rear instead of +40 sounds good...just not sure on the front now.

Just to verify, is there anyone who personally has 20x10 with an offset of 35-40 on the rear of their GS that knows from experiance that the wheel fits on with absolute no need for modifications? I just want to be 100% sure before I order my wheels in this size that they will fit correctly. Thanks again for everyones help.

As with everything, there are multiple factors involved when fitting wheels.

new to the gs family, I recently acquired an 02 gs300.
looking at wheels already, I plan on going w/ tein ss or flex coils, wondering if this offset will be ok for the tucked/flush look, or if spacers will be necessary.
stagged axis mod 20x9 +37mm and 20x10 +38mm
I don't want it to be super agressive and stick out, but I would like a clean flush look.
I'll end up purchasing a rear camber kit, and would rather shave the fenders vs rolling.
any advice? it would be appreciated.
