Granted, many of the people running 20s are about 1" taller. There are issues with that and as long as you are OK with it (and in this case with the additional sidewall "look"), just do it.

The only part of your setup that I'd be truly concerned with is the rear tires. With those offsets, you should not run into fender rub issues. If you want max width, I'd recommend a 245/40, 275/35 combo. If you want to keep the current fronts, I'd suggest at the very least step down to a 275/40 in the rear.
Exactly... If your serious about street handling/performance you want your sidewalls stiff/straight/euro stretched(mildly like factory bmw sizes). If you only want straight line performance then fat sidewalls like on the mustang guys running 315's on a 10" then go for it. You will not handle right with sidewall slop. But if were talking about aggressive/flush fitment youve got a looong way to go.

AMA0627 for future reference please do your research before you buy next time. It will same you money, time and embarrassment. The tire size you have chosen are ridiculously too big for your vehicle. Rule of thumb is that you are supposed to stay within 3% of your factory overall diameter. The size you bought are 3.5% taller in the front and 5.7% in the rear and as mentioned by other members the rear tire is way to big for a 9" wide rim and will balloon out the sizes which will actually lose performance and handling. Listen to Neo he hit the nail right on the head. You should run a 245/40 front and 275/35R18 rear

Default 99 GS400 help with tire size

Hello, I need help with tire sizes for my 99 GS400. The car is completely stock as when purchased. It has the 5 spoke Lexus alloy wheels measuring 16 X 7 with 225/55/16 tires with an overall diameter of 25.7 inches and 9.2 width. I purchased some new wheels measuring 18 X 8 with offset of 40.

245/40/18 would keep the original overall diameter and I suspect that these would fit the car.

My concern is that I really don't want that thin of a sidewall because of the look and want to keep the ride as luxurious as possible with the 18's.

One of the sizes I'm interested in is the 235/45/18. Can anyone tell me for certain if the 235/45/18 overall diameter of 26.3 and 9.3 width would create any problems in fitment or computer on car?

How about the 245/45/18 overall diameter of 26.7? And would the 9.8 inch width of this size tire rub and/or give the setup a balloon look?

Thanks for your help! This is the first time I tried a post and not sure if I'm in the right place. Just a 50 year old dummy not real good with forums.

Thinking about getting 19x10 and 19x 11.5 offsets unknown how much of a headache will this be to make it work on a 2gs?

How much work would it take to fit 19x9.5 +22 and 19x10.5 +22 on a 2GS?

Hey guys can anyone point me in the right direction of wheel fitment for 20's Staggered? I want to go 20x8.5 up front and 20x10 in the rear. Im looking for a flush setup without the requirements to shave and roll fenders, also I'm planning on dropping my car sometime in the future with H&R lowering Springs lowers front 1.4" and Rear 1.3", I am currently on stock suspension and will only be replacing the springs, and I would like to know what wheel setup would be conservative before and after the drop.

Thanks guys, your help is appreciated

Couple of thoughts for you my friend. First of all, if you're not going to lower your car going from a 16 to 18 wheel without lowering your ride won't suffer much if you select the right tire. Given that you're not lowering, 245/40-18 will have a much sportier ride but not harsh. If you want the extra cushion of a 235/45-18 the tire will look large in the wheel well but you'll have your comfort.

If you're lowering with something mild like H&R springs expect a little bit of a harsher ride but it still feels like a Lexus.

245/45-18 is just a bad idea. It's out of spec and really will affect handling in a bad way.

Hello,

Recently purchased Eagle Alloy 227 for my 2002 GS300. Wheel specs are:

front: 20X8.5 +40 offset
rear: 20X10 + 40 offset

What will be a comfortable tire options for this above spec? I am mainly looking for regular drive, dont want to face rubbing issue.

I saw some 245/35/20 for front and rear 255/35/20, what do you think about this?
Please suggest me if you can. Thanks for your time.

BUMP....any insight from anyone? Wish I could just go to the store and slap these on to try, but the store is very far away from where I live.
These wheels come with 245/35R19 tires already on and my current set of AME Shallen AX 19x10J +32 run 275/30 on the rear. I've already shaved my rear fenders but not lowered the rear yet. Waiting to find a set of coilovers I'd like to go with atm.

Im looking to do a 19x8.5 +20 F and 19x9.5 +20 in the back. 235/35or40 F and 265/35or40 in the rear. I would like to lower my car with no no finger. What fender modifications would it have to do to make that work. Suggest on tires would be appreciated. Thx

Default New to fitment

I am wondering if you guys would know if this would look right also what size tires I should get. I was looking at TSW rivage wheels with 19x8 with 30mm or 40mm and 19x9.5 with 40mm offset. I am wondering how you think it would look with stock ride height or if I should lower it an inch or two?
