best air filter for stock air box?
i dont wanna change my stock air box but, i do want a reuseable air filter. i've read online different things about filters that use oil can mess up air mass sensor and non oil filters dont filter enough. can anyone shed some light on this subject for me as to which kind and brand to use?

I've got the K&N drop in also. I had heard that before about oiled filter messing sensors and non not filtering enough. Honestly, I don't think K&N would be such a well known name if there filters didn't work well and/or messed up your sensor. I would guess that any oil filter could be bad if you over oiled it, but the instructions for K&N are pretty clear on how to maintain your filter.

I have also never noticed any difference in power by adding the K&N, contrary to K&N's advertising. I suspect this is because the restriction in the air intake system is in the air box, and not the filter.

+1 K&N Drop-In
Been using the K&N Drop-In filter for about 6 months, no problems watsoever.
Used a K&N cone filter in my old Maxima for 2 years without a hitch and cleaned and re-oiled twice. For the GS, I noticed a slightly deeper growl at WOT, more noticeable at night. For power increase, I would have to say its gives increased throttle response.
For your oil concerns, I usually re-oil generously to say the least. You have to be a retard to oil it to the point to where it damages your MAF. It would have to be soaking wet. This mod pays for itself in no time. The recharger kit only costs like 15 bucks and you can use it up to 4-5 times at least.
