Not sure what year wheel you guys are getting in the group buy, but I believe you can use your '98-'00 single stage airbag on a '01-'05 wheel.

The '98-'00 GS utilizes a single stage airbag configuration.

This was not a cheap mod to do because I went the hard way of getting it done. The group buy should be much cheaper for the wheel and the total cost of the project should be much less than what I paid especially if you can use your existing airbag with the new wheel.

The good thing is you can sell your old wheel to recoupe some of the cost.
how can i get one?

When a dual stage airbag blows, what happens compared to a single stage one?

Dual Stage Airbags: Computer-operated dual deploy or dual-stage airbags. These airbags can deploy at two speeds, or not at all, depending on information sent to the computer from sensors located in the seatbelts and front seats. In less severe accidents, airbags deploy at the lower first stage, usually about 70 percent of full force. In more severe accidents, both stages are deployed. Seat sensors in some systems also can detect the weight of passengers and deploy only if the occupant is above a certain weight - helping to prevent airbag-related injuries to a child or small adult. NHTSA required these air bags in all vehicles by 2005.

Would a single stage plug fit into one of the dual stage airbag plugs? I wonder if it would still work as a single stage bag..

I think you can buy the plugs to set up the dual stage to run as a single stage or something. Some way to adapt the airbag to fit the wheel.

Any details? 01 RX300 airbags are really rare. If 98-00 owners could use dual stage airbags and still make them functional we would have access to more choices.
