Default 20" Wheels Too Tall?

So I put on my new wheels yesterday to come to find out that they actually hit the upper upper control arm thing?? I haven't read of anyone having this problem before, just wondering if anyone has ever run into this. The offsets have been used before, so I'm guessing the 20"s are just too tall??

Thanks!!

how wide are the wheels and what are the offsets?

Tons of members have 20's and even 22's...so, to tall is not the answer.

Are you sure that the tire is hitting upper control arm??Because it sits right on top of the tire but never actually hits..

the width off the rim and the tire size shouldnt be a problem, i think the offset is the problem.

the offset shouldn't be problem neither, i am pretty sure 9 +42 fits no problem and that sits even more inboard.

you sure the wheels are rubbing the upper control arm? the setup you have it should be very safe

well found out tires are 245/40/20 and not 35 series. Looks like the tires are too tall. I suppose I'm going to have to use a small spacer now.

Best thing is to change tires.

it actually fills the fender wells very nicely, and would hardly require the car to be lowered. Bah, oh well, guess I'll have to get some new tires, or spacers.

that's the problem..... such a big wheel is no longer proportional. and without lowering it looks weird. and good luck turning, coz' it's going to rub pretty bad

i saw new tires
