I brought my caster arm to my friend's shop to get it pressed out and back in. It didn't take too long since my friend has done plenty of bushings install for the 2GS. Replacing the bushings is not something you can do be yourself unless you have a press.

this may be a stupid newb question, but when I purchased my 99 GS400, it came with really bad tires. I already have a new set ordered and will probably have them installed this weekend...but my question is could the tires be the cause of the vibration?

It is also only at higher speeds, 45+, and each of the tires has different wear (ie non of the tires look like they wore down in pairs). The front left is almost completely down to smooth rubber with no tread, most of it gone on the outside. The front right is similar, except not as worn down. The back right is uneven and worn more on the inside, but getting bald on the outside, and the left back looks like there's at least 65% tread left. It looks the best of all of them...

So, is it possible that all of these mismatched treads could be attributing to my vibration? It is fairly minimal when it happens...I don't even know how the previous owner managed to get them to wear like that. They are all the same brand tires on OEM 16' wheels...so it doesn't look like they were mismatched, just never rotated or taken care of.

I'm sure its not helping matters to have bad tires, however it is also likely to be suspension components too. I would change the tires and take it from there.

Also check out this thread...

people seem to be fixing their problems by addressing wear of this bushing.

and also, replace your lower balljoints immediately on both sides wether you think you need them or not (unless you have records of them being replaced, of course)!! your car is a potential death trap until you do.

I too changed the No. 2 Caster Arm. Worked for me. Made me thinking it was my chrome wheels. Expensive part though. GL.

The only thing that saved me was Diazen Poly Bushings. Had wheels road force balanced. Measured lateral runout on rotors, Measured ball joint play top and bottom, etc., etc., etc.

timing belt/water pump gets changed every 90k, if you have more than 90k miles and no record of it being changed go ahead and do it. If the belt breaks, your motor is pretty much toast.
