Default Opinions...Tire size???? 225/40/18

Hey everyone,
I want to know if a 225/40/18 (Dunloup Direzza) would be a good fit stretched slightly on a set of 18" G35 stock wheels....(I know..Infinity wheels, Yuck) But I need some winter wheels that will clear a BBK, and they look pretty good.

Ive searched for days, calculated the sizing, Pondered...., And just want some other opinions...ect. I dont want to run a staggered tire steup , I feel thats for staggered wheels.

I was thinking maybe running a small spacer front and rear, In combination with the stretched tire. Please any help.... Thanks
....I have the Wheels And tires, I just havent mounted them yet....

P.S. Suspension is Daizen springs W Gr2 shocks/Struts..

If you already have the tires it's kind of a no brainer isn't it? They won't be "streched", the 225/ 40 will give you almost a straight side wall even with the edge of the wheel.

Well the tires were free, and I have 225/40/18, I also have 245/45/18, and could get something different if I needed to.
I kinda wanted to know if I should get 225/45/18 because of the difference in with of the 225 tire compared to the rim?

If you want a "streched" look , i.e. smaller side wall, go with the 225/ 40. The 225/ 45 will have a taller side wall and not look or perform as well. The width of the two tires are the same 225 millimeters.

The only problem is their just out of spec. I dont know how much this will effect the ride. After looking around more today, I think im gonna go with a 225/45-18 or a 235/40-18. I guess Ive got some tires to sell.
Now im wondering whats the best brand tire to go with since ill be buying them now.
Thanks for the help.

G35 wheels are fine as hell, and clear BBK as mentioned cheaply.

I currently have 225/45/18 and 245/45/18 on mine. Those are the stock tire sizes of the G35 wheels, and it fitted the car fine so I stayed with that setup.

What suspension do you have, I out them on my car with stock suspension and I didnt like the look, The 245/45/18 is not within spec for the car. Now I have Daizen springs and kyb-Gr2's Ready to go on.
Im thinking 245/40/18 all around will be a better fit, What do you think?

Oh yeah I ditched any "stretched" look ideas, Ill save that for a nice set of summer wheels. Hence the 245/ now.

At this point, Wow I hate to keep thinking about my car...lol

Im going with Falken 452's - 245/40/18's all around.
I want the traction of the wider tire and better ride comfort then the michelin pilot sport. I knew very little about tires a week ago, Now I feel like a tire connaisseur....
Thanks for the input, Ill post pics when I get them on my car.
