Lighten up on the foot. I have an '01 430 with a few mods amd comute 62 miles one way five days a week. low 24 high 23 mpg's every tank. Cruise set at 72 and a light foot in town. Your GS doesn't need to be the first car to the next light, we all know it can hold it's own when needed. Now when I do do some spirited driving with the local car club my mileage drops to about 18, so based on that, your's does need some kind of tweeking. Try the feul injection cleaning suggestions.

10 MPG??? That is rediculous! I usually get about 375-400 miles per tank and thats with a lead foot. I've been up to 550 miles on one tank when I drive really light. Your GS definitely needs some servicing if the mileage is that low.

but his9.5 is based on using the full 19.8 gallons... it should be closer to 11-11.5 but still. I get around 16-17 mostly city driving. On my way home from Chicago when i picked up the car I was averaging over 22mpg at 80mph

Whether it was 9.5 or 11.5, its still way too low to be caused by some hard driving.

NYC has a different set of rules. You're pretty much stop and go at every other corner. Anywhere between 11 and 15 would probably be in the normal range.

For now, stop by Autozone and pick up the Lucas Fuel Treatment and see if that helps at all. But checking your filters and your MAF sensor would be a good thing.

Ive been getting about the same milage as you DjT, and when i try to drive like im 60 i still get average 13-14 but when i really push it my average is 11-12 and i mean i push it. I bought some injector cleaner, and yet no results.

Yeah, I already tried additives..

I used Techron...Just about everyone said it was one of the best!

I Know someone who works at Jiffy Lube..I guess I'll have him physically clean the injectors...

I just filled up today right when the light came on. I filled up 16 gallons on the nose and there was 344 miles on the milage readout. Calculations being correct... that's 21.5 MPG. I did take a trip to Orlando on Friday (140 miles RT) so it may have been a little higher than normal, but by NO MEANS 9.5 MPG... There is a serious issue there... maybe a hole in the gas tank or something. YIKES.

Perhaps he has a V10 GS? That 9.5mpg is worse than the Viper & M5. The concentrated bottle injector cleaner remedy is no comparison to the professional fuel injection cleaning. Get it done then give us feedback.

yea, EFI (electronic fuel injection) flush is $90 and you should also get a decarb (breaks away the carbon build up) another $95. it should improve your gas mileage. i had those done about 15k miles ago and i still get about 300-350 mpt
