Default Your opinion, is this a good deal?

Greetings gentlemen,

I was wondering if you guys thought $32,900 for a 2000 GS4 with Nav was a good price. I'm not sure if the car is platinum (gonna go check it out on Wednesday) but the car is loaded. Only drawback is that the car has 49000 miles on it which is a lot for a 2000. The car would be certified and the dealer told me that it has been serviced at their service dept for all scheduled maintenance. The car is silver with gray interior. Let me know what you guys think!

I've seen a 2000 for 38,000 with only 18000 miles but it would not be certified. Everything I've seen under 35k is not a certified GS4.

I'll say it's a good deal because the following reasons:
1. dealer certified
2. scheduled maintenance are kept and performed by dealer
3. 49000 miles is not that high. ok.. it's high but it's dealer certified
4. Price is better than fair.

If the condition of the car is good, I'll say go for it.

good luck!!

I have a nav, certified GS400 with 36k for a lot less money than that-email me at jm1999@tritel.net if you are interested.

I think that is a great deal. Lexus will run forever and plus it has had all the scheduled maintenance. It makes me sad that I didn't look around for a better deal on my GS, like my friend got a killer deal on a 99 GS4 with 18K Mis, 19 SSR's, RMM Body Kit, Blitz Intake, RMM Engine Cover, Greddy Exhaust for 36,000 OTD.....Can you believe that. It was like RMM's show car or something. And I had a chance get that too, but I didn't have the money at the time.

zxlr8,

Check your email.

enginyr,

I checked ebay and the 3 GS400's were either 98 (2) or a 99 (1) and were only slightly less that this 2000 GS4 (about 2-3000 dollars cheaper). None were certified and all were somewhat far from me meaning I would have to fly out to check them out, have it transported to me if I buy it and not be able to trade in my car for it (unless of course I try selling my car on my own). All in all this 2000 GS4 still seems like a better deal than those.

I am still gonna try and get a better price but 49000 miles is still holding me back. If for some reason I had to sell this baby it would definitely make it difficult. I would prefer no Nav and fewer miles for about the same price or less. There is a another GS4 Platinum with only 18000 miles going for $38000, but it isn't certiified. I'd take that car for $33,000 if I could.

Anyways, when did Lexus go to the DVD based Nav on the GS4? Was it for the 2000 model or for the 2001 GS430?

Default Good Deal

I think that sounds like a pretty good deal. I picked up a '99 certified with 33K miles for $37K about three months ago. Mine did not have the Nav, but had the premium package, rear spoiler, and the 17" chrome wheel and tire package. Remember that as a certified car, the warranty is extended for 3 years up to 100K miles, and I believe that it is transferrable. So you really have a 3 year/51K mile warranty. You also have peace of mind knowing the history of the car.

If the car doesn't have the upgraded chrome wheel tire package, you can always try to negotiate these into the deal....

As a point of reference, we sold our 92SC with 140K miles and our 93LS with 135K miles. Never had a problem with either of them.

If the color combo is right for you, I would go for this deal.

Good Luck,

U should take it for 32k instead of 32,900.... they're adding that 900 just so it sounds a little bit cheaper, instead of saying 33k, and that 900 will be pretty good to take off since that could go towards ur intrest u know

So, ferizzo, have you decided against the TL-S? The price you found on that used GS is so close to the price of a 2002 Acura it's almost scary. Let us know how it goes!

Default GS4 vs TLS still a question

Iceman,

I have not decided against the TLS, as a matter of fact at this point I am leaning more towards the TLS (because it would be a new car and a bit cheaper to maintain). It's just that I am still considering both cars and just happened to get a call from a dealer about this 2000 GS4 for a reasonable price. I am just looking for a good deal on either car and this one looks pretty good. I am still weighing my options. The only thing I don't like about this car is the high mileage.

ShowGSLuVv,

Thanks for the advice. Never really thought of that but it does make sense. I planned on negogiating the price some so we'll see.

Bklnblk,

I'll see about that other stuff. I actually haven't really seen the car yet and made an appointment to see it tomorrow.
