Default I hit a Deer! I hate Bambi

I hit a deer on the parkway monday morning at 2am going 70mph in my
02 GS300. I posted some pics. I'm waiting for the Insurance people to come and appraise the damage. I don't know the extent of the damage but under the hood it is much worse than it looks from the outside. The radiator is now v-shaped and pushed into the engine. Infact everything under the hood between the headlights has been moved back 6inches or more. both headlights will have to be replaced as the connect points have been sheered from the body.Oh and the level adjuster thingys are missing. It will start but not driveable. Of course the hood and bumper will need replacing. Most of the damage is inside the engine compartment. Any guesses as to the cost of damage? do I hear 6k 7k maybe 10k?

that is pretty bad. glad you are ok. seems like the most expensive part will be your lights. the supports and braces can all be replaced easily depending on just how bad it crushed in. good luck.

A deer hunter on my job confirmed for me that this is the time that there more active. Great for him and all other deer hunters but trouble for cars. Good luck on for a quick insurance and repair process.

What we can see in the pics looks repairable, it's what's underneath that has me guessing. I'm guessing 4K.

thats fukin scary. @ 70mph u must have shat yourself. I did and that was only at 45 (but foggy). how did u manage no to run it over (causing other problems) or flying on your hood (bad problems). Was it a buck or just bambi as u described? This one could have been real bad.

First off Glad your safe...Secondly I 'T-boned' another car in my '98 GS4 and with just the bumper, hood, and fenders being replaced the dealership (Charge more but work is top notch) was asking 4400.00. Keep in mind my headlights were still in pristine condition. So with that engine damage, and labor you may be pushin 8k easy, hopefully there isn't any frame damage.

+1....lol. JK, but I don't understand how the HELL you can hit a deer going 70mph and it NOT roll off and hit the windshield at all???!!! If I didn't know your story it would look to me more like you hit a pole going 40mph; only because an impact like hitting a pole will NOT effect you windshield unless your head/hands/arms hit it. Whatever it is truthful or not you are lucky because now your probably going to get a new or rebuilt engine out of the insurance co....good job! and glad to hear your ok...
