What do aftermarket spoilers cost compared to the stock lexus one?

I used to be a big "no-spoiler" fan, but then I started seeing GS's w/ the factory spoiler and I began to like it. It gives the GS more of a sporty look vs. the luxury look w/o the spoiler.

Right now I'm not biased either way. I like both.

Most people w/ aftermarket spoilers get these big ugly things put on the back. So I have to give most aftermarket spoilers a thumbs-down.

Personally...
Without the spoiler...and no offense to anyone...the car looks like a family sedan that belongs to a 50+ yr old carting around the kids....now if its hooked up , thats a dif story.

With the stock spoiler...the car begins to take shape as SPORTS luxury sedan it was meant to be. Funny thing is, even my mother laughs when she sees a GS without the spoiler , and now without an upgraded exhaust. According to her, it might as well be an Avalon.

I think it looks silly with the stock spoiler but I have seen some pretty good aftermarket ones that are more of a lip.

I'm a big fan of the factory spoiler. I have seen some clean looking after-market spoilers as well.

I have to agree with the above comment it just doesnt look right without a spoiler.

I like the OEM spoiler. My concern with aftermarket spoilers would be the fit/finish on the GS.

Anyone know how much an OEM spoiler would cost if had to get one installed?

For the longest while, I didn't have a spoiler either on my '00 Platinum edition. I just installed a TTE trunk lid lip spoiler (ala M5). I debated a long time whether to get a spoiler, or not, and which one.

Adding a stock-type wing (ie RMM one piece) requires hooking up the brake light, and blacking out the stock light. The relay and rear deck replacement for factory look is a little costly.

So I opted for something subtle, with no brake light hassle. Since it's a small spoiler, it uses double-stick tape, hence no drilling.

The RMM one-piece is ~$225, requires painting ~$150-200, installation ~$150-250. The TTE spoilers and stock wing can be obtained through Steve Ganz.

Mine has a little more of a lip - the comparison side-by-side with an OEM pictures are on my other machine - the local dealer actually uses these on all his GSs.

I'll post a pic later tonight.
